The following format and content of the price list has been stipulated by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario and is required to be posted by all bereavement licensees.
INTERMENT AND SCATTERING RIGHTS
Interment right prices listed below include a non-refundable contribution to the Cemetery’s Care and Maintenance Fund.* The prices listed below do not include the opening and closing of the grave, (“interment fee”), memorialization costs (flat marker, upright monument, etc.) and associated installation fees.
In-ground burials:

This fee is paid for by Ontario Works for qualified recipients and includes the cost of opening and closing the grave.
Scattering Rights:
Devitt’s Cemetery has neither common ground nor a scattering ground for the disposition of cremation remains. In accordance with Devitt’s Cemetery’s by-laws, cremated remains must be interred in a cremation lot or a full burial lot using an appropriate container or urn.
*Care and Maintenance Fund Contribution:
As required under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 30/11, from the above purchase price of interment rights to a lot, the appropriate amount below will be contributed to an irrevocable trust fund known as the Care and Maintenance Fund. Income from this fund is used to cover care and maintenance expenses of the cemetery in perpetuity.

INTERMENT RIGHT & MARKER SPECIFICATIONS
For an Adult Single Grave and a Child Single Grave:
Interment Rights allow for 1 Full Burial Casket and Up to 4 Cremation Urns;
Marker Specifications allow for 1 Upright stone up to 122 cm. (inc. base stone);
OR
1 Upright stone between 122 cm. & 225 cm. (inc. base stone);
OR
1 Flat or Bronze stone: area dimensions as appropriate (within the
confines of the lot boundary); if stone, it must be
10 cm. thick.
For an Adult or Child Single Grave with no Full Burial Casket interred:
Interment Rights allow for up to 6 Cremation Urns;
Marker Specifications are the same as above.
For a Single Cremation Grave 60 cm. x 60 cm.:
Interment Rights allow for only 1 Cremation Urn containing cremated remains;
Marker Specifications allow for only 1 Flat Marker: 40 cm. x 40 cm. x 10 cm.
FOUNDATION PREPARATION / INSTALLATION FEES
Note:
All foundations for upright monuments and memorials shall be contracted to be built at Devitt's Cemetery at the expense of the interment rights holder. The full cost of an upright monument or flat marker installation is made up of three components: (1) preparation fees, (2) installation fees, and (3) a mandatory contribution to the Cemetery’s Care and Maintenance Fund, as set out below. All fees and contributions must be paid prior to the final monument installation.
Any foundation for an upright monument shall be the lesser of 1.2 metres in depth, or the full depth of the grave.
FOR UPRIGHT MONUMENTS:

Care and Maintenance Fund Contribution related to the Installation of a Marker:
As required under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, the following amounts must be paid to the cemetery operator before a marker is installed. After each marker installation, the amount will be contributed to an irrevocable trust fund known as the Care and Maintenance Fund. Income from the fund will be used to cover expenses for the care and maintenance of markers and monuments in perpetuity.
Flat markers measuring less than 1.12 m2 ........................................................................................................ $0.

PAYMENT
Prior to Interment:
Payment in full for a lot purchased is due on the signing of the contract and before the Interment Rights Certificate will be issued. Payment may be made by cash or cheque.
Prior to an interment, all required fees relating to the interment as set out above must be paid in full. Payment may be made by cash or cheque.
Financial assistance for burial and cremation services is available through various governmental agencies, to those who qualify. Other than the sale of lots for interments, Devitt’s Cemetery does not provide products or services in advance of need.
